Taralli’re traditional italian snack, they’re available in many sizes, with different flavours from salty to sweet versions.
2-3 person (cca. 8 pieces)
cca. 10 minutes
cca. 45-50 minutes
250 gr white flour
75 gr almond
100 ml water
60 gr vegetable oil (coconut or corn, olive oil also good)
5 gr salt
1,5 teaspoon black pepper
this portion is enough to 8 bigger pieces (2,5 cm wide and 20 cm long), if you wanna make more, do double portion or do smaller tarallies.
Measure the flour, add the salt and pepper. Crush the almond in small pieces.
Bake the almonds in preheated oven over 200C for 2-3 minutes. Note, almonds can also burn easily, so check it while they ‘re roasting!
Stir the salt and pepper in the flour well, then add the oil and the water and mix them well.
Knead the dough well, then let it rest for 30 minutes.
If you wanna do this portion divide the dough to 8 same sized balls. Roll them and shape thin rollers then a circle.
Bake them in preheated oven over 180C for 45-50 minutes, or until they will have a little colour.
Tip: If you wanna make the dough more friable you can also use yeast. 🙂
